Looking at previous blog posts you will see blog post called “2003 PW 80 Yamaha motorcycle - starting problem” where resolution of starting problem is offered. One of the possible solutions is suggestion to clean the carburetor.
In today blog post we will try to solve the starting problem which occurred after replacing the carburetors in XV 750 Virago.
Whoever replaced the carburetors needs to check their work. Viragos are very difficult to do carburetor work on and have lots of emission lines and controls that need to be checked over. Then, check the spark plugs/ spark plug caps for being worn/fouled or loose. Opening the throttle makes requests of both the fuel system as well as tests the spark voltage reserves of the coils and secondary wiring.
If the motorcyclists don’t have a history on the bike, it could have other ignition or fuel system issues. Go to www.cycle-parts.com for illustrations of motorcycle parts and to get an idea of parts pricing/availability.
When in doubt, do a full tune-up on it, including valve adjustment and compression test. The look for ignition and fuel system deficits.
Hoping this blog was useful in solving this kind of starting problem.
