Motorcycle parts survival skills – hard braking

As many mature motorcyclists praise, every motorcyclist should be aware of motorcycle parts and theirs capabilities. The number one motorcycle parts which can contribute in motorcycle survival are brakes. This skill known as hard braking also identified as “panic” brake is top surviving technique which should be practiced by every motorcyclist.

Hard braking is practiced during those times when you need to immediately use full braking force without losing traction and control of your motorcycle.

This situation is occurred when something just became positioned right on your track at the last second.

Hard braking is the strongest possible braking force you can apply to avoid accident.

If you are not experienced in this technique you should practice from time to time in an empty parking lot or some other location without traffic. If you are not usually driving solo you should also practice hard braking with a passenger.

If you are a Honda motorcycle sport-touring rider, an Suzuki motorcycle adventure-touring rider, a Yamaha motorcycle cruiser-tourer, luxury tourer, or any rider who loads your bike for a long-distance ride, you should also practice hard braking with your motorcycle fully loaded.

If you happen to have an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) integrated on your motorcycle does that mean all of this is unnecessary? In brief, there is no substitute for improving your rider experience, but ABS does have some compelling advantages.

If you like to practice hard braking there are lots of YouTube videos of people practicing this technique.
